I’ll trade you a bag of pucks for…
With less than 8 days to go until the 2009 NHL trade deadline Bryan Murray may have some serious offers on the table.
Having finally made a move for the much needed puck moving defenseman the masses have been calling for the last 6 or 7 months, Mr. Murray has made it very evident that he is not finished yet. Recently the team reacquired forward Mike Comrie along with said “PMD” Chris Campoli for San Jose’s 1st round pick and veteran Dean McAmmond.
Now it would appear that the team has three too many defenseman and a little bait to dangle in front of the buying GM’s
Plenty of speculation has players like Christoph Schubert, Filip Kuba, Chril Neil, and even Mike Comrie on the potential block.
If I can make a pseudo prediction it will be that Ottawa will make a move for a more than established starting goaltender and possibly shed some salary by shopping one of the big three. Although I hate to subscribe to the notion that the first line needs to be disbanded it almost seems inevitable that in order to get anything of good return value we will need to send a little more than second line players that are supposed to be good the other way.
Here is to hoping that Brian silences all the doubters with his tremendous managing savvy and gets something this team can truly get excited about going into next year.
Fingers crossed 😉
