Making A Run For The Calder Trophy

The kid is awesome, no doubt about it!

I have to admit at first I was a little skeptical in thinking that Elliott would stay up in the bigs for the remainder of the season. His play, however, has shown even the cruelest pundits that he has every right to be the Senators starter this year and arguably next year as well.

He is 4-0 on the road and boasts a save percentage of .921 and a goals against average of 2.31 in 12 starts that have seen him go 7-3-2 in that span.

His excellent efforts matched with the approach of new coach Cory Clouston have energized the Senators to play the game we all know they can and should.

Now that being said do you think that his efforts, should they continue earn him a crack at the Calder. Some may say yes!
